Dong is a splendid village in Lohit District, Arunachal Pradesh, located a few miles away from the Chinese border, famous for being the easternmost human settlement of India, and to receive the country’s first sunrise. There are many things to do in and around the village. Learn about the village culture of the hospitable and very traditional Meyor Tribe, who are Buddhists and live a simple sustainable lifestyle. Go hiking, mountaineering or rafting in the nearby valleys, passes and rivers. Take a bath in medicinal hot water springs sipping beer while temperature outside are well freezing. Or do nothing but gaze at all the magical surrounding scenery. Nevertheless, tourism here is literally non-existent. A truly remote experience in the remotest district of India!
