Photo Of the Day ~ A Simple Life in A Simple House

Believed to have migrated from the Shan Kingdom of Burma during the 18th century, the Tai Phake Tribe today occupy the banks of the Buri-Dihing River of Assam. The houses of the tribe are sustainable and are built above the ground by using piles of wood and mortar. Local leaves, timber and bamboo are some of the materials they use in the construction.
Hardworking and easy going, the tribe lives a simple life in simple houses.
